Why is Delusion Dispeller accepting gifts (charity?) from her clients?

Why are clients mailing material goods to LauraBeth Villarreal? Isn't it unethical to accept gifts from those who pay for services? Seems to me that Delusion Dispeller receives support from clients. What do clients really receive other than headaches and constant requests for handouts?
